Why do water lines appear during injection molding, and how to solve them?

Interlayer water marks of plastic injection molding products, also known as joint line defects, refer to the thin line seams formed on the surface of plastic injection molding products. If you don't look carefully, you can't find the hair-like seam, which occurs on the joint surface of the molten plastic flowing in the cavity of the injection mold. Therefore, the lines produced by this phenomenon are called join marks. This part is not strong enough compared to other parts of the plastic product. From the perspective of the quality of plastic injection molding products, it should be improved as much as possible. So what causes the defects of interlayer water marks?

1. Due to the defects caused by insufficient temperature or setting low inflow plastics that cannot be melted, measures can be taken to increase the temperature of the molten plastic, the injection speed and the temperature of the injection mold.

2. If the interlayer water marks cannot be eliminated anyway, and you are worried about the performance of plastic injection molding products, you can change the position of the injection port or the injection speed, and move the part where the flow marks are formed to a place that has nothing to do with the strength.

3. The resistance of the plastic injection mold is too large, the molten plastic is difficult to flow, and the temperature of the first part drops, forming a water line. In this case, the channel or sprue of the injection mold needs to be enlarged.
