What should be paid attention to in two-color mold design and injection molding processing?

Two-color mold is a mold in which two plastic materials are injected on the same injection molding machine and molded twice, but the product is only molded once. Generally, this molding process is also called double-material injection molding, which is usually completed by a set of molds and requires a special two-color injection molding machine. Two-color molds are becoming more and more popular in the market, because this process can make the appearance of the product more beautiful, and it is easy to change the color without spraying, but the cost is expensive and the technical requirements are high.

1. The water transportation arrangement of the two cavities and the core should be as sufficient as possible, and balanced and the same. 2. After the front mold of the mold is rotated 180° from the center, it must match the rear mold. This must be taken into account when designing. 3. In 99% of the cases, the hard rubber part of the product is injected first, and then the soft rubber part of the product is injected. Because the soft rubber is easy to deform. 4. The nozzle of the three-plate mold should be designed to be able to automatically remove the mold. Pay special attention to whether the demoulding action of the soft glue nozzle is reliable. 5. When designing, please carefully check the parameter data of the two-color mold injection molding machine, such as the maximum thickness of the mold, the minimum thickness of the mold, the distance between the ejector pin holes, etc. 6. During injection molding, the product size of the first injection molding can be slightly larger, so that it can be pressed more tightly with another cavity during the second molding, so as to achieve the effect of sealing. 7. The two shapes of the front mold are different, and one product is formed respectively. And the two shapes of the back mold are exactly the same. (Note: If there is any difference, the front mold slider should be made to ensure the consistency of the rear mold) 8. Pay attention to whether the flow of plastic will impel the first formed product during the second injection molding, causing its glue position to deform ? If this is possible, we must find a way to improve it. 9. In order to make the two plastics 'stick' tighter, the 'stickiness' between the materials and the roughness of the mold surface should be considered. Two-color mold injection molding has a special TPU; and the smoother the surface of the mold, the tighter they 'stick'.
