What should be paid attention to in the annealing process of plastic molds?

The annealing treatment of plastic molds is mainly to eliminate the internal stress caused by different reasons, so that the quality of the parts meets the use standards, and the appearance has no obvious defects, which is convenient for subsequent processing.

Annealing can make the metal structure in the mold more stable and balanced to ensure the quality of subsequent processing and final heat treatment. Annealing is the process of changing the pearlite in the mold metal. Since the mold requires forging, welding, cutting and other technological means during the manufacturing process, a certain amount of residual stress will be generated accordingly. Annealing treatment can eliminate deformation processing, welding, residual stress on the process and parts, and avoid deformation and inaccurate accuracy of the workpiece during processing.

In order to completely eliminate the residual stress in the workpiece, the length of the holding time and the cooling rate should be determined according to the actual situation of the workpiece.

The commonly used annealing methods include full annealing, spheroidizing annealing, stress annealing, recrystallization annealing, diffusion annealing and isothermal annealing. Each method corresponds to different material properties of tool steel and residual stress caused by different processes.
